Pompano Beach Weekend Guide – March 28–29, 2026
By Gary Fitzpatrick

Pompano Beach has really come into its own lately—great beachfront, a growing food scene, and a more relaxed vibe than some of its neighbors. If you’re heading that way this weekend, here’s where I’d spend my time.

1. Beach & Pier Vibes at Pompano Beach Pier

This is the heart of the action right now in Pompano.

  • Walk the pier and take in the ocean views
  • Grab a drink or bite at nearby oceanfront spots
  • Perfect for sunrise, midday beach time, or sunset

The whole area has been upgraded and it shows.

2. Relax at Pompano Beach

If you’re looking for a beach day without the chaos, this is a great choice.

  • Wide, clean beaches with plenty of space
  • Easy access and parking compared to busier areas
  • Great for swimming, lounging, or a long walk

A little more low-key than Fort Lauderdale, which is a plus.

3. Dining Spotlight: Where to Go

Pompano’s food scene keeps getting better—these are solid picks:

  • Beach House Pompano – Oceanfront dining with a great atmosphere
  • Oceanic at Pompano Beach Pier – Right on the sand, perfect for brunch or sunset dinner
  • Houston's – Consistently great food and waterfront views

Reservations are a good idea, especially Saturday night.

4. Outdoor & Local Spots

If you want to explore beyond the beach:

  • Alsdorf Park – Intracoastal views, boat watching, and green space
  • Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse – One of the most iconic views in the area

Great for a slower-paced afternoon.

5. Family-Friendly Options

Simple, easy options that work for everyone:

  • Beach + pier combo (always a hit)
  • Parks and open spaces along the water
  • Casual dining spots that are kid-friendly

Pompano is very accessible, which makes it easy to plan a relaxed day.

6. Real Estate Corner: What I’m Seeing Right Now

Pompano Beach is quietly becoming one of the more interesting markets in South Florida.

  • Continued redevelopment around the beachfront and pier
  • Strong interest in condos with water views
  • Buyers looking for value compared to Fort Lauderdale

My take: Pompano still has upside, especially near the beach. It’s on more buyers’ radar now than it was a few years ago.

7. Weekend Highlights

  • Live music and dining around the Pompano Beach Pier area
  • Sunset along the beach or Intracoastal
  • Casual bar and restaurant hopping near the ocean

Final Thoughts

Pompano Beach is one of those places that feels like it’s just getting started—great improvements, great location, and still room to grow.

If you’re thinking about buying or selling in the area, this is a market worth paying attention to right now. Happy to help you make the right move.
